Business Admin Apprentice
Kickstart your career as a Business Admin Apprentice at Cambridge Enterprise, support leaders, learn fast, earn a Level 3 qualification, and grow in a diverse, collaborative team.

West Cambridge | £20,559 | Full Time | 18-month contract | Hybrid (2 days per week from home) | Start September 2026
Your career starts here, at the heart of leadership, not the sidelines. Learn fast, gain real experience, and build a future you’re proud of.
Why you will love this role:
If you’re someone who learns best by doing, and wants to build real confidence quickly, this role gives you exactly that.
You’ll support the Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer, managing busy diaries, coordinating travel, preparing key documents, and making sure every meeting runs smoothly.
But it goes deeper than that. You’ll sit in on leadership meetings, capturing actions, tracking progress, and seeing how ideas turn into decisions. You’ll help bring structure to fast-moving priorities and play a key role in keeping everything connected behind the scenes.
You’ll also work closely with a Strategic Project Manager & EA who will support your development and help you build the skills that really set you apart; organisation, communication, and confidence working with senior stakeholders.
Alongside the role, you’ll complete a Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship with Cambridge Regional College, giving you a recognised qualification while learning on the job.
This isn't a typical apprenticeship role, it's the kind of role that accelerates you. You’ll leave with more than experience, you’ll leave with perspective, confidence, and options.
What we're looking for:
Highly organised with strong attention to detail
Proactive, you take ownership and think one step ahead
Comfortable using Microsoft Office, or keen to build your skills quickly
Able to handle confidential information with care and professionalism
Calm under pressure and able to juggle multiple priorities
A team player who’s collaborative and open to feedback
Motivated to learn and make the most of the apprenticeship
Experience writing emails or formal communications
GCSEs (including English and Maths at grade 4/C or above) and relevant A-levels
Nice to have:
Some experience in an office, admin, or customer-facing environment
Exposure to diary or calendar management
Interest in how organisations operate or grow
A curiosity for improving processes and making things more efficient
Diversity and equality matter:
These are our ideal requirements, but we know some people are less likely to apply for the role unless they check every single box. At Cambridge Enterprise, we promote a diverse, inclusive and empowering culture, so if you feel you have most of the skills and experience needed, we’d love to hear from you.
If you have any questions about the interview process, or if you need any reasonable adjustments, please don’t hesitate to contact Sofia or the People and Culture team at people@enterprise.cam.ac.uk
