Marketing & Communications Professional Assistant
You'll have the unique chance to connect the groundbreaking research from a world leading university with industry, and help solve our planet's most important challenges.

West Cambridge | from £29,000 | Full-time / 2 days WFH
We are looking for an outstanding Professional Assistant (PA) to join our Marketing & Communications team at Cambridge Enterprise.
Why you will love this role:
This is a PA-first, high-trust role supporting senior leaders in a fast-moving environment. It will suit someone who takes genuine pride in being highly organised, efficient and dependable - someone who brings calm, pace and clarity to complex diaries, inboxes and competing priorities.
You will work closely with the Head of Marketing & Communications and the Marketing & Events Director, acting as a trusted organiser and central point of coordination for senior leaders within the team. Your ability to anticipate needs, respond quickly, exercise sound judgement and actively manage priorities will be critical to the success of the team.
Alongside this core PA remit, the role is embedded within the wider Marketing & Communications team and provides hands-on operational and administrative support. This includes supporting meetings, team processes, systems and events - stepping in wherever needed to keep activity running smoothly. On occasion, the role will also involve independently supporting or running events, taking responsibility for logistics and on-the-day delivery.
What we're looking for:
An exceptionally strong PA with experience supporting senior leaders
Someone who thrives on pace, prioritisation and managing competing demands
A naturally proactive person - you spot what needs doing and take ownership without being asked
Confidently reactive - able to reprioritise and respond quickly when things shift
Excellent judgement, discretion and attention to detail
A genuine team-support mindset - willing to roll up your sleeves wherever needed
Flexible and happy to support and, on occasion, lead events - including on-the-day delivery, sometimes out of hours
Comfortable with Microsoft 365 and quick to adapt to new ways of working
Nice to have:
Experience supporting events independently, from logistics planning through to delivery
Familiarity with marketing or communications environments
A track record of improving processes or picking up new systems quickly
This role will suit a confident, capable Professional Assistant who enjoys pace, responsibility and variety, and is ready for a broader challenge. It is ideal for someone who wants to remain firmly rooted in PA work while developing additional skills through supporting team activity, events and operational delivery in a dynamic environment. It is not suited to candidates seeking a purely creative or entry-level marketing role.
Diversity and equality matter:
These are our ideal requirements, but we know some people are less likely to apply for the role unless they check every single box. At Cambridge Enterprise, we promote a diverse, inclusive and empowering culture, so if you feel you have most of the skills and experience needed, we’d love to hear from you.
If you have any questions about the interview process, or if you need any reasonable adjustments, please don’t hesitate to contact Sofia or the People and Culture team at people@enterprise.cam.ac.uk
